Our little princess...

There's nothing quite like a grandchild. Especially when she is a beautiful, smart, and vivacious little charmer like our Lorilie!

Fast, Chocolate, and Yummy!!

Here's one of the easiest and best deserts ever. Buy two cans crescent rolls and the big huge Hershey bar*. Break the chocolate bar into 16 equal pieces and wrap each one in a crescent roll. Pop in the oven at 350 degrees until golden brown.

Now here's where this recipe gets tricky. WAIT until they cool!! I cannot emphasize this step enough. Having given myself some serious burns of tongue, lips, and chin by not waiting, I can tell you from experience that the melted chocolate inside the crescent roll is HOT. Like molten lava.

*You can substitute any size Hershey bar or other chocolate candies that you like.

Sitting still...

Will Rogers said, “Even if you are on the right track, you’ll get run over if you just sit there.”

I feel like I'm just sitting here with my book. I'm not sure what to do next. I want it to succeed so badly for so many different reasons. I really believe it is a good book. Is it a great piece of literature, goodness no, I don't even aspire to that. It's just a good read with some great characters that seem to loved by all who read it. I feel like I'm letting them down. They are all there in the book just waiting to jump out and inhabit the mind of readers and I'm not doing what I need to do to give them that chance.
Maggie talks to me sometimes, she's very polite, but she is basically telling me to get off my duff and do something about it. She says, you've got to break some eggshells to make a meringue. I'm not even sure what that means, but...I know she thinks I'm not doing what I need to do.

I'm so glad I wasn't on that jury

I couldn't have done it. I couldn't have turned in a verdict of not guilty. Maybe what they did was what they had to do according to the law, but I couldn't have done it. How do you look at pictures of that beautiful little girl and allow the woman who killed her to go free? I've read that it wasn't easy for them and they were all crying when they turned their decision in. That at least is a good thing--somebody cried for Caylee. It seemed that her mother's only tears were for herself.

Reviews for Taking Out the Trailer Trash

"I couldn't put it down. Read from first page to last. Enjoyed it so much. It was an easy read and just the right thing for a Saturday.. I look forward to any other books written by Janice Ivy."

"This was an excellent adventure, full of murder and mayhem, as well as humor and romance! A story for everyone and you'll love every minute.
The characters are wonderfully colorful. The plot is incredibly wicked!"

"What a fun and engaging book. I purchased it thinking I'd read 10-15 minutes a day... and on the second day was finished and wishing there was a sequel to find out what happens next with the main characters. It took me a chapter or two to become captivated, but before I knew it I was justifying "just one more chapter" and time was flying by. The humor was surprising and welcome. I'm a fan of murder mysteries and while this had the murder and intrigue, it also had a fair share of humorous moments. The characters are a departure from my 'real life' but it wasn't difficult at all to identify with them. I'm looking forward to a follow-up story!"

"Janice Ivy has created a caffeine-addicted cigarette-smoking sharp-witted heroine that will have you smiling as you turn the pages of this excellently written mystery. The denizens of this RV park will make you wonder about your neighbors and what they may be up to. Splendid read."

"This book is a delight. It bounces along at a rapid, page-turning pace. The characters are vivid and hilarious. It was so easy and fun to read. It's a perfect beach book or for curling up on your favorite chair and escaping for awhile....highly recommended!"

I've been reading other blogs--just trying to get the hang of this whole social networking thing. I see where they post all these interesting, insightful articles about life in general and writing in particular and I think maybe I should forgo this experience.

I work. A lot. I don't really have time for this. It's not that my books aren't important to me, they are, but paying bills and taking care of my family are fairly significant too.

I'm a teacher/writer/whatever is needed for an online school. It's a wonderful place to work. The people are super, the vision of the founder is brilliant and innovative. I love what I do. I just sometimes wish there were two of me, so I could do that and spend time writing novels and promoting them.

Wanted: Book promoter.

What I need is somebody to promote my books. I'll write them and you sell them. You will need to create interesting and interactive blogs, tweet until your blue in the face, have a Facebook presence, do all those fun but time consuming things that BookBuzzr recommends, become active on the Kindle forums...Well, you get the drift I'm sure.
I estimate that you can get the job done by working 24/7 for an unspecified amount of time, keeping in mind that it's entirely possible that you'll never make a penny.

First assignment: Tell me why I ever thought I could do this. Explain in detail.

This is some complicated stuff...

A person could get totally lost in this whole blog thing. There's so much to figure out and so many choices to make. Well, a person who has a lot of time on their hands could anyway.
I just tried pretty much every design available and in the end went back to what I started with. There are too many choices, too many colors, too many options. Wow.
Charlene’s first novel has just been published and she couldn’t be happier. Unfortunately, being a published author isn’t quite as lucrative as she had hoped. She needs a day job that will give her time to finish her second novel before the money from the first one runs out. Managing a small RV park on the Mississippi Gulf Coast seems like the perfect gig. It’s close to the beach, the rent is paid, and the job demands are minimal.

Things seem to be working out just great until the murders start.

Who is killing people at the Happy Times RV Park? Charlene intends to find out, with the help of a senior citizen ex-madam, a fugitive from the 60s, and a good looking cop with a shady past.
